Michael P. Coppola

As President and CEO of GBAC, Mike brings over 35 years of health insurance experience to the firm. He has been servicing brokers and retail clients through all the various cyclical changes of the health insurance industry which helps position himself and his team of professional for the dynamic changes consumers are experiencing today.

Mike is a lifelong resident of North Haven and has been involved in the community throughout his entire career.

Michael J. Coppola

As Vice President of GBAC, Mike brings over 15 years of health insurance experience to the firm’s service and product offerings. Mike spent several years with Anthem BCBS of Connecticut prior to joining GBAC.

He is a Board of Director for several area Chambers of Commerce and is responsible for managing GBAC’s internal quality control systems and administration.

Mike is a lifelong resident of North Haven, CT and a graduate of Assumption College.

Joseph A. Bucci Jr., CPA, CIC

As Chief Financial Officer of GBAC, Joe brings a breadth of knowledge, experience and insight into the dynamic employee benefits and consulting arenas. Joe is a licensed certified public accountant (CPA) and certified insurance consultant (CIC) with the State of Connecticut and has led the charge in educating brokers and clientele on the challenges that confront them with consumer-directed health care and health care reform. With his experience as a business advisor in public accounting, Joe has been instrumental in the development of GBAC's human resources consulting practice.

A graduate of the University of Connecticut, School of Business Administration, Joe spent thirteen years in public accounting and the corporate arena. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants and is a Board of Director for Easter Seals Goodwill Industries. Over his career Joe has advised and managed business entities from all facets of industry, specializing in closely-held organizations. He works with public and private entities to establish multi-year strategic plans to effectively manage the costs of employee benefits and human resources.

Joe is a resident of Guilford where he resides with his family and volunteers his time as a Board of Director for Guilford Little League and Guilford Youth Football.

Jeff D. Torello

Jeff, as accountant by acumen, has worked in the business world commencing with public accounting, evolving to the private-sector and eventually leading him to a captive sales position with Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield of Connecticut.

After several years with Anthem BCBS of CT, Jeff joined Group Benefit Administrators of Connecticut, Inc. (GBAC) as a broker and sales consultant. Jeff works with clients of all sizes and industry, and specializes in offering creative alternatives to managing group employee benefit plans.

Jeff earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (with a concentration in Accounting) from Providence College and graduated from the University of New Haven in West Haven, Connecticut with a Master's in Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree.

Joanne Moniello, CIC

Joanne has over twenty years of group benefits experience representing both, employers and benefit administrators, throughout the State of Connecticut.

Beginning her career as a claims processor, advancing into COBRA administration and systems management, Joanne brought her skills to GBAC in 1991. During her tenure with GBAC, Joanne has managed customer service teams and various brokers. Currently, she assumes the roles of Large Group Account Specialist, and manages the firms customer service efforts.

She is a Licensed Life and Health Specialist and also is a Certified Insurance Consultant specializing in Life and Health.

Susan L. Milles

Susan is a seasoned health insurance veteran who started with GBAC in 1988. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience with her ability to manage brokers, as well as, the firm’s designated Medicare specialist.

Susan has always led the internal charge to keep all professionals and staff abreast of legislative and product updates, as well as, insuring that the firm’s ancillary product offerings are the most competitive and comprehensive.

Susan is a life-long resident of Branford, CT where she is involved in the community in addition to her various business commitments with affiliated associations.

Frank P. Apuzzo Jr.

Frank is a licensed insurance agent with responsibility for new Group Health, and Voluntary Benefits sales at GBAC. In his current role, Frank works to meet and exceed demanding sales targets and create strong and long-lasting customer relations.

Prior to joining GBAC, Frank also worked for Apuzzo Associates, Inc, Aflac, and A.J. Gambardella Associates gaining a vast array of market exposure and experience. GBAC benefits from Frank's enthusiasm, professionalism and expertise in introducing new clients to the firm.

Frank lives in Wallingford with his wife, Casey and their 2 children. When not working, Frank enjoys playing golf, spending time with family and friends, and volunteering his time in the community events.

Frank B. Mengert

As our Director of Information Technology, Frank is responsible for GBAC's overall technology strategy and the implementation of technology to enable insurance strategies and accelerate the achievement of employee benefit goals. In addition, Frank is responsible for Online Enrollment, HIPAA policy development and implementation, compliance training and communications, auditing, and issue reporting and resolution.

With over a decade in the Information Technology field, Frank was vital in the growth of GBAC's computer infrastructure as an outside service provider before accepting the position full time. Having a degree in Computer Science and over two dozen Industry Recognized Certifications, his strong analytical and logical skills, combined with his organization and discipline, has been both a pillar of strength to our team and instrumental in our growth.

Candice Barth

Candice serves GBAC as a Client Service Representative. She is a CT licensed health and accident insurance representative trained in all aspects of client support and issue management. Candice supports the Large Group Account Management team in addition to servicing our clients with benefit inquiries and issue resolution with additional responsibility in COBRA Administration.

Prior to joining GBAC, Candice was employed by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield and CIGNA insurance companies. She has over 13 years of experience in the health care insurance industry supporting both large and small group markets. Candice specialized in member support with in depth knowledge of claims, employer benefits and state/federal mandates.

Candice is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Science degree in the health care field.

Danielle Mengert

Danielle started off with GBAC in Client Service, her job has grown to include overseeing our Accounts Payable and Receivable and Broker Commissions. Always friendly and enthusiastic, Danielle possesses a hardworking disposition and has been a devoted employee at GBAC for over 11 years.

As our company expands its lines of Product Offerings, Danielle has taken on our growing Pre-Employment Screening service conducting background checks that is part of our Human Resource Compliance and Consulting division.
